NEW snow leopard painting

Hello and a huge 'Happy New Year!' to all my wonderful followers! I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas time!

This is my new painting finally at the stage of showing some considerate progression. I spent some time deciding on the colours for my backdrop, noticing how I get more excited about backgrounds aswell these days. The colours I've picked complement my snow leo, purple/ blue/ green shades with faint terracotta tones which will pick out colours in the snowy foliage planned to frame his face aswell as colouring in his fur.

Much of the backdrop will hopefully (all goes to plan!) be covered in light snow fall, the whole image will be quite muted I think, showing that in the wild the elusive snow leopard will merge into a rockface and blend into their habitat seamlessly, their athletic physique allows them to pounce in silence with speed and intent. Perhaps I am so taken by this magnificent cat as it will always remain a mystery to me, the chances of me ever seeing one in the wild are next to none! Workers out in the field consider even a pawprint to be a success sighting!

He's the most rugged 'wild' looking captive snow leopard I've seen and at 22 years old, he has sired many snow leopard cubs adding drastically to snow leopard numbers over the years! I think he deserves a shining gold medal, he is magical and captivating. I hope you love him :)

HI, I am enjoying him and I look forward to seeing how your plans work for that background. It sounds quite interesting. Happy New Year.
