This is my new painting, I am only posting a couple of progress shots for this snow leopard. Due to the recent passing of 'Ranschan' the male snow leopard at WHF, I stopped all else and started a tribute painting of this handsome cat. He was on my painting wish list, but hearing of his sad departure I was inspired to capture his life and soul the only way I know how. I have given him a fresh cool backdrop set against the warmth in his eyes. A paler coat to the previous snow leopard I painted, consisting of lots of pale rusty orange yellow / lilacs / buttercream / blues / browns, with my signature frosty patches!

A really great tribute to a beautiful cat, it is so tough to see them go.
I like the especial gaze that your express in his precious eyes of the snow leopard,this give much life and expressivity in the picture.
Thankyou Wendy, yes it is hard but as far as I know it was natural causes with no pain. He was very handsome indeed :)
