NEW tiger cub drawing
Hello! Here is my new pencil drawing of a cute little tiger cub. This is the first drawing I've ever done of fur so I started out a little apprehensive on whether I could capture the overall effect the way I wanted it to look, however I feel I am already getting to grip with the different techniques of layering and hair movement/direction. I did experiment a little with pencil techniques I've read about before but in the end I decided to do it my way. I find things easier when I don't try to speed up a process or take shortcuts- the process I've used is similar to my watercolour paintings. I am still fascinated and surprised with results you can achieve from the humble pencil :)

Hi
I cannot believe you did not draw fur in graphite before :) - looks awesome
thankyou so much Lene for the encouragement!:) Jules
This looks great, which method of fur did you choose to use?
hello Andrew :) thankyou, I chose not to use any indentation techniques, instead I only draw the darker parts so you are thinking in the negative for the white parts of the tiger, I hope this helps, Jules
This is looking gorgeous, great work so far Jules.
thankyou Judy!:) I'm itching to try scratchboards, Jules
You will be brilliant at scratchart Jules. If you need any info. on it just ask. I also have a few scratchart patterns which give step by step instructions.....Linke below:-

Wonderful thankyou Judy! I don't know whether I can buy the boards from the UK? I've looked but haven't been successful, Jules
I have to order mine from the USA.....Dick Blicks, they give great service.
